Gareth Gates

Gareth Gates' debut album "What My
Heart Wants To Say", released
on October 28, 2002

Gareth Gates has come a long way from his Bradford, England roots. As a contestant in the UK ITV reality show "Pop Idol", invented by Simon Fuller, Gates started off competing with tens of thousands other expected "idols-to-be". Making it to the finals, Gareth was eventually defeated by Will Young who received the grand prize of a record contract with BMG Music. As a runner-up, Gareth also got the opportunity to release a record.

In March 2002 his first single "Unchained Melody", which included the A Side Productions' co-written and produced song "Evergreen", hit the UK stores. Rapidly selling more than 1.1 million copies, it became a tremendous success and Gates now mounted his own career.

Gates' second single "Anyone Of Us (Stupid Mistake)", also co-written and produced by A Side Productions, cleared his way to the international charts reaching top positions all over the continent. To date, the single has sold in excess of 1 million copies.

Gates' follow-up album "Go Your Own Way",
released on September 22, 2003

Obviously the song was included on Gates' debut album "What My Heart Wants To Say" which was released on October 28, 2002, and besides "Anyone Of Us", A Side Productions contributed with another three songs.

Gates' follow-up album "Go Your Own Way" was delivered to the UK stores on September 22, 2003, also including several tracks co-written and produced by A Side Productions.

The song "Say It Isn't So", taken from the album, was released on December 1 as Gates' Christmas single. Though experiencing hard competition from other major artists, it still reached Top 4 on the UK chart.
