The Saturdays

Rise to prominence comes fast for some groups. The Saturdays' debut album was released in October 2008, only months after they were formed. Re-issued in March 2009 it subsequently produced four UK Top 10 singles, including this year's official Comic Relief single that entered at number two on the chart.

Prior to the release of the new album, Wordshaker, the British-Irish girl group worked hard to oblige a rapidly growing fanbase. Besides supporting Girls Aloud on their Tangled Up Tour and The Jonas Brothers at their Hammersmith Apollo concert, The Saturdays in June opened two shows for reunited Take That. The same month the quintet also embarked on their first 24 venues headlining concert tour of the UK.

The album Wordshaker came out on October 12, 2009, with several songwriters and producers being involved. Among them Per Magnusson and David Kreuger which together with Ina Wroldsen wrote the two songs "One Shot" and "Open Up", produced by A Side Productions and recorded in London in March.
