"...Baby One More Time",
Spears' debut album
Britney Spears' first album "...Baby One More Time" was recorded in world famous Cheiron Studios in Stockholm, Sweden, by the spring of 1998. This as a collaboration of most of its songwriters and producers. Released in the U.S. on January 12, 1999, it instantly became an enormous success debuting in the top spot on the Billboard 200 Album Chart (staying for 6 consecutive weeks). As a result, Britney made Billboard history becoming the Youngest Female Artist to have her first single (s/t) and first album going No. 1 in the same week. To date "...Baby One More Time" has sold more than 22 million copies worldwide.

Spears' record company, Jive Records, early decided to release four singles from her debut album. The 2nd single "Sometimes" was released on June 7, 1999, and was warmly received by a rapidly growing fan base. Written by Jörgen Elofsson and produced by Per Magnusson and David Kreuger, the song became Spears' second straight worldwide mega-hit in as many attempts and Britney was now turning into a genuine pop phenomenon.
After a massive summer of -99 tour across North America, Spears returned to the charts with yet another smash hit. "(You Drive Me) Crazy", co-written and co-produced by Magnusson/ Kreuger, was released as Britney's 3rd single. Now, not surprisingly, also the film industry had begun noticing Spears' success. As the producers of the upcoming motion picture "Next To You", starring Melissa Joan Hart, heard her new single, they had rapidly chosen its theme song and later the picture was renamed "Drive Me Crazy".
Besides "Sometimes" and "(You Drive Me) Crazy", Magnusson/Kreuger worked with Spears on yet another song on her debut album, co-writing and co-producing "Deep In My Heart".
"Oops! ...I Did It Again",
Britney's 2nd album
For her sophomore album "Oops!...I Did It Again" which was released in the U.S. on May 16, 2000, Britney again turned to Magnusson/Kreuger. Co-writing and co-producing "What You See (Is What You Get)", the duo contributed to Spears' second in a row landing atop the Billboard 200 Album Chart. At last count, "Oops!" has sold in excess of 15 million copies across the globe.
In late 2000 Per Magnusson and David Kreuger had formed
A Side Productions and a few months later their new studio was
state-of-the-art equipped and inaugurated.
One of A Side Productions' first major projects was resuming the
collaboration with Spears who recently had signed on to promote Pepsi.
On the evening of the 2001 Academy Awards, her first commercial
"Ask For More" premiered. The music was produced by A Side
Productions.
