More than two years ago, in early 2002, a worldwide search for a male vocal quartet had begun. Two years later, numerous auditions included, the fourth and last member was picked and "IL DIVO" was formed.
This new vocal concept featuring renowned young male singers interpreting romantic songs opera style was invented by Simon Cowell. Famous for discovering and promoting artists such as Westlife, Will Young and Gareth Gates, Cowell is also the co-founder of record breaking TV show "Pop Idol", a format which since its 2001 UK premiere has turned into a enormous global success.
Il Divo's debut album will be released in the UK in November and includes four songs produced by A Side Productions.
Among them a new version of Ennio Morricones "Nella Fantasia" taken from the motion picture "The Mission" and "Ti AmerĂ²", which A Side Productions also co-wrote for the group.
